Kumbh Mela - Hardware, India 2010 - "The World's Largest Act of Faith"
*** Hindu Creation Myth ***
The gods & demons once fought a battle for a Kumbh (pitcher) containing the nector of immorality. Vishnu captured the Kumbh and took it away. During his flight 4 drops of the nector fell on the earth in Allahabad, Hardware, Nasik and Ujjain. His flight lasted 12 days and the gods triumphed. From this time on, a great Mela (fair) has been held in these cities every 12 years.
